Swedbank established its own branch office in Helsinki in October 2005 to serve selected corporate customers. Establishment in Finland is an important part of Swedbank's international strategy. Many of Swedbank's customers operate in Finland, and Helsinki is an important gateway to the Baltic and Russia for both Swedish and Finnish companies. The establishment of a branch office thus strengthens Swedbank's options for becoming a leading Nordic-Baltic bank.
