The Payment Services Act and SEPA bring changes to the Finnish payment traffic
The Payment Services Act to be implemented 1.5.2010 in Finland
The Payment Services Act will fulfil the departments III and IV acts assigned in the single market directive (2007/64/EY). The Finnish Government has decided to make a proposal 1.10.2009 regarding the Payment Services Act. According to the proposal the act will be implemented 1.5.2010.
SEPA = Single Euro Payments Area
The transfer to a unified single payment area will also mean the usage of a new international payment standard and the usage of international account numbers in Finland. The previous national standards will be replaced with new by the end of 2010.

|Please note that from June 4th, 2009 onwards IBAN and BIC must be used when making SEK payments to any country within European Union. This means also that BankGiro number nor PlusGiro number cannot be used anymore when making SEK payments to Sweden.|
